The Red
by
Tiffany Reisz
Mona Lisa St. James made a deathbed promise that she would do anything to save her mother's art gallery. Unfortunately, not only is The Red painted red, but it's in the red. She soon realizes she has no choice but to sell it.
Just as she realizes she has no choice but to sell it, a mysterious man comes in after closing time and makes her an offer: He will save The Red if she agrees to submit to him for the period of one year.
The man is handsome, English, and terribly tempting...but surely her mother didn't mean for Mona to sell herself to a stranger. Then again, she did promise to do anything to save The Red...
The Red is a standalone novel of erotic fantasy from Tiffany Reisz, international bestselling author of The Bourbon Thief and the Original Sinners series.

A total one-handed read.
While not quite erotica, it's not really firmly erotic romance either. But that's okay because the story is deliciously dirty and creative. Sometimes I feel that in erotica and erotic romance the story is really only there as a sort of window dressing for the sex or that the sex gets boring after 200 pages. Totally not the case here. Each scene is inventive and fits with the overall story. The story is also compelling enough to be interesting even without the sex. You might feel like you need to brush up on your art history after reading but I think that's a plus.
And like always, the BDSM elements are amazing. After reading the crop scene, I wanted to crawl into the book and live. Well, before then too but definitely after the crop.
I can not recommend this book highly enough if you are interested in art, BDSM, and/or creative, steaming hot sex. It's also a great place to start if you are interested in becoming a Tiffany Reisz fan before jumping into her series.
