❤❤ MY REVIEW OF ALL YOUR PERFECTS BY COLLEEN HOOVER, AND BOOK TOUR INFORMATION ❤❤ #AllYourPerfects

My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Colleen Hoover delivers a tour de force novel about a troubled marriage and the one old forgotten promise that might be able to save it.

Quinn and Graham’s perfect love is threatened by their imperfect marriage. The memories, mistakes, and secrets that they have built up over the years are now tearing them apart. The one thing that could save them might also be the very thing that pushes their marriage beyond the point of repair.

All Your Perfects is a profound novel about a damaged couple whose potential future hinges on promises made in the past. This is a heartbreaking page-turner that asks: Can a resounding love with a perfect beginning survive a lifetime between two imperfect people?

I don't even know where to start. This book is real y'all. I mean cut to the quick, real. Marriage isn't easy. Especially with a topic like this and Colleen has written this story in a way that's going to touch a lot of people.

There are things I loved about the story and things I , well, didn't love so much about the story. First, this whole story , or a large majority, revolved around how she felt with having children. Never once did she even stop to think about how this must feel for Graham, or what he would feel each time, it was all about her. And I'm not saying the woman in the relationship wouldn't struggle, most women would struggle the most. But I don't feel like she even gave him any chance to grieve those tests or chances either. To grieve the losses together. And of course that's one of the major problems , she started to shut down and shut him about...and thus the reality of the story. See what I mean... REALITY hits right there. But, back to the book... I don't know, she just came off very selfish to me. It was always about her.

However. This was also hard to read for me for a completely different reason. Being a divorcee, it's always hard to read a husband who fights for his marriage, and wife, the way Graham does. The things he says. The way he loves her. That's always a hard pill to swallow. And yes, it's fiction...but, there's still effort. And honestly, that kind of stings. But again, it's REAL.

The format. Oy. Timehops back and forth are my all time least favorite format. I hate it. I always think if you're going to do it, at some point it has to start to all be present time. That didn't happen here. Again, this is my preference but it stopped me from completing the story all at once. I actually put it down a bunch of times. With this story, there wasn't a going forward point like I was hoping for. Umm..  90% and we're still timehopping. Again, this is just my preference.

With that said, I can tell you that the story is so well written and did touch my heart so very much. But...since I hate this type of format, it really pulled me away from the story. I dislike it so much I put the book down multiple times, and each time I saw THEN I groaned aloud. Literally.

So, to me it was just okay. I, personally, wouldve connected more if it was periodic timehops here and there instead of every.single.chapter.

  1. This book is almost my story to a “t”. I cried all throughout. I felt every single emotion Quinn felt. Now I feel I need to have a conversation with my husband! I wonder if he’s felt half of what Graham has felt. This book is VERY real. Not for the faint of heart. Beautiful as well. Will never forget this story. Ever.
