❤ 4 star review of KISS MY BOOTS by Harper Sloan ❤

In this second of the sultry, Western-set Coming Home series from New York Times bestselling author Harper Sloan, Quinn Davis might finally have a shot at her own happily-ever-after—but will she let love in, or will she tell it to go ahead and kiss her boots?

Quinn Davis prefers to live her life quietly. She’s the stereotypical tomboy with two overprotective big brothers who have always been there to protect her, especially from devilishly handsome cowboys with silver tongues. That is, until Tate Montgomery comes riding into town. Their first meeting, however, is far from something out of a fairy tale and only further convinces Quinn that men aren’t worth her time.

The only place Tate Montgomery ever truly felt at home growing up was during the long, sweltering summer months he spent at his Gram and Paw’s farm in Pine Oak, Texas. Now, Tate has returned to his childhood sanctuary seeking a fresh start—but if he’s being entirely honest, he’s not just back for the wranglers and Stetsons. During those summers, Quinn was a friend-turned-young-love who Tate lost when life threw him a curveball and he cut all ties to his past; but all it takes is one glance at the raven-haired beauty he did his best to forget for him to realize just how much he’s been missing….

This is a sweet twist on the second chance romance we all love so much. Tate and Quinn fell in love young, and thought it would last forever. and it would have, if his dad not stepped in and broke their hearts, keeping them apart. we find out the reason for the break up quite early in the book, which was honestly a little surprising. normally this is kept from us for quite a while, and honestly I'm glad the truth was out early. I'm not one to wait to find out what happened , or play games, so I'm glad the way Harper laid it out.

Harper gave us the heart ache, the holes left behind , the void you feel when you lose the one you love. but then slowly she took us on the ride of rebuilding that love and filling those holes. it was the perfect pace for us to fall in love with Tate and Quinn.

I think one of the things I loved most about them is that Quinn isn't a girly girl. she's a mechanic and loves it. she crazy good at it. and as much as she loves doing it, Tate loves that she's not a typical girly girl, a high society princess. he never once tried to change one thing about her. he loves her just as she is, as does he. the doctor and the mechanic. not your typical couple, but they work so well together.

I also love that we get to see Quinn's brothers and we also got to see a bit of his space fillers come try to bite him in the ass. but this time , we get to see Quinn fight , not Tate. it's nice to see a woman fight for her man once in a while, not all in love stories all we see is tbe man fighting. not so much here. I think we can all agree Tate fought hard enough and long enough, it was nice to see Quinn step up to the plate and be Confident and secure enough to do so.
