Tell me a secret...
CJ Carmichael hasn't been able to get the vivacious blonde he spent four delirious days with off his mind. The blonde who was completely off-limits, but he couldn't deny.
Tell me a secret....
CJ had no intention of pursuing her, but Tara Stevens knew what she wanted and it was him. Now six months later, their time together still haunts him. As much as he's tried to talk himself out of seeing her again, the craving is just too powerful.
Tell me a secret...
Tara is more than willing to spend an entire fantasy weekend with CJ. More than willing to hand herself over to him completely and fulfill his every desire. More than willing to pretend he owns her despite their age difference and Kayne's disapproval.
Tell me a secret...
Sometimes fantasy becomes a reality. Sometimes people fall in love before they even know it- before they even know each other- and after it’s too late.
Tell me a secret...
Sometimes, beneath the sweetest secrets are the most deceptive lies.
I have so many things I want to say, but I am having trouble turning my feels for this book into words. I am so grateful that M. wrote a full length novel instead of a novella, and because I am a selfish M. Never fan and I f-ing love her writing style, I want another book of CJ and Tara. With that said.... Can I tell you a Secret? I LOVED LIE WITH ME!!!!!!
CJ is amazing, I seriously put him on my favorite list with Kayne, BUT for so many different reasons. We all know how Kayne is..... Kayne is Kayne. CJ however is sooo different, I expected him to be like Kayne, boy was I surprised. He is so loving and caring and funny and sexy and I could really go on. How he is with Tara and how much he loves is mind blowing. M. did a fantastic job making me fall in love with CJ, I didn't think she could make me fall in love with him like I did Kayne, but she did.....
As for Tara, I had a lot of mixed feelings for her. I liked her at first, she was fun and sexy. BUT I hated her at one point, like f-ing hated her I didn't think M. could make me like Tara again, or even make me believe that she deserved CJ. At one point my heart shattered for CJ because of Tara, like legit shattered, I wanted to cry. I wanted to yell at Tara. Then I wanted to yell at M. for making my heartbreak for CJ. But because CJ is well CJ (you'll understand what I mean when you read it) he was the better person and did what his shattered heart wanted because in the long run it was what would make him complete. Then slowly but surely I decided I couldn't hate Tara. People make bad decisions and you learn from them. Good people like CJ are accepting of people's faults. Which is something I admire.
M. shocked me in this one. I NEVER expected the twist that happened. Not once did I think what happened was going to happen. For that to happen is mind blowing. There are so many books out there that you can predict what happens next or you come up with one or two scenarios, but this one I would have never guessed the path she decided to go. M. Never is that good.
As far as the Dark stuff.... There is just enough to be included in The Decadence After Dark Series. I am a HUGE dark fan, but I love that CJ isn't Kayne, I love how this story went and I love how it ended. If you are so reading this and you haven't read Kayne and Ellie's story, go read them!!! It is important that you read them, due to the fact that CJ & Tara's back story starts there. If you are reading this review and you've read the others, you need to read Lie With Me.... With that said...

Can I tell you a secret? This is another 5 star read for me!

Stunned.
If you asked me to sum up the book in one word, that would be my response. I am utterly... stunned.
I know I shouldn't be stunned, because this is M we are talking about and she is a fan-freaking-tastic writer, but I can honestly tell you... her writing style still stuns me. Even after reading all her other books, I am still left stunned. And stunned, in the best possible way. I am stunned from the little surprised that M gave us, the unexpected turns in the story, the way M never fails to get me addicted to every single word on every single page. I am stunned with how HOT she made CJ, which is saying something considering Kayne and Jett make me purr.. I am stunned with how emotional I got over this book. I was all over this place. I was hot, and cold, and mad, and furious, and confused, and hurt, and turned on, and happy, and proud.... like I said, all over the place.
Honestly, the thing that stunned me the most. The betrayal. And not just one. I feel like there was more than one betrayal that happened and both of them S.T.U.N.N.E.D. me. I had a WTF look on my face when it happened. I had the my-stomach-just-dropped when i read it. You know what I'm talking about. The part where you hesitate because you don't know if you want to keep reading, because you don't want to know how this is going to play out. Stomach. Drop.
Juice was such a powerhouse in this book to me. As a man, as a lover, as an operative, as a friend... just as himself. and Tara, though I don't think I could ever make the choices she did, I wish she would have opened up to CJ sooner. I wish she would have told him. I wish it would have played out different. It totally made me question my love for her character. But... I will say....
"You're the only one I come for"
How freaking hot is that. I was reading this just thinking.. go on with your bad self CJ.
I don't think I could sit here and say oh yeah this was a good book. It wasn't just a good book, it was spectacular. Another amazing book in a phenomenal series.
