I am the good girl, the one who does no wrong.
Daughter to a ferocious and strong MC President, I know what protection feels like.
Until one night changes everything - and not a single person in the world can protect me from it, not even my dad.
Suffocating. Alone. Desperate.
I let my problems live deep inside until there is no longer anywhere to run.
I need an escape. Anything to make the pain go away.
Trouble comes for me, and I don't fight it.
I tried so hard to believe in what I was,
But nobody understood.
Not until him. Not until Lucas.
He sees me. He believes in me.
He refuses to let me drown.
He’s my way out. My escape.
But Lucas is forbidden. He’s a cop. I’m in danger. And my father is trying to protect what can’t be protected.
There can only be one outcome.
Pandemonium.

okay. okay. okay. so I feel all over the place with this review. some things I hands down loved, and some things I just am not so sure about. then on the other hand, its Bella freaking jewel. . so I kinda wanna marry it and have little book babies.
okay first. I know I'm being overly critical here, but the cover .. doesn't the cover say FBI covertly on the bottom? I'm kinda confused as to why... Lucas was a cop, not an FBI agent. so that kind of put me off a little. I know, I'm being picky. moving on from that and to the story itself ...
I've read the Hells Knights and Heavens Sinners books, and still feel like I need a family tree to keep everyone straight. they need "hello my name is" name tags. sorry. I can't keep it all straight, even with brief explanations.
okay, now im done complaining and moving on to the good stuff. Lucas, let's start there. what he went through, what his reality is, was a hard freaking chapter to read. not only because of how well written it was, but because I'm a mom. I think Bella just wrote the scene that is every parents vacation nightmare. then how things spiral for him, I was so upset. I got sad, and mad, and frustrated. then I was confused- how was Jackson involved. and the leads led back to them- why? if if wasn't true- why? that was the one thing I wanted answered. why.
now Ava. I'm not too sure how I felt about her as a leading female. I expect kids of MC bikers to be rough and tough, take no prisoners. add in Addi is her sister, and I just expected more of a fighter. not saying she didn't, I just expected bigger balls. I can respect her clawing her way from the darkness, finding any way to cope, but I don't know. something was just missing with her when it came to "him."
I was really surprised how Bella intertwined their storylines, and honestly I was very very surprised by the timelines. I liked how Lucas has the balls to stand up for Ava, and eventually so did she. I'm definitely a fan of how they are the light at the end of each other's tunnels. there was just something with this story I could not click with, which is odd for me and a BellaJ book.. still liked it, but I could've loved it. it definitely pulls some feels right out of you, and yes made me tear up a time or two
I had to rate this one 3.5 stars
