❤❤ 4.5 star review of RUIN by Samantha Towle ❤❤

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

From Samantha Towle, the New York Times bestselling author of Wardrobe Malfunction and Breaking Hollywood, comes a dramatically powerful and passionate new contemporary romance.

And the new heavyweight champion of the world is...

Those are the words that Zeus Kincaid has been waiting to hear since he first put on a pair of boxing gloves. He just didn’t think they would come with a tragedy that would change how he viewed the sport forever.

Cameron Reed was in her second year at Juilliard when her childhood sweetheart, Zeus Kincaid, walked away from her. A few months later, Cam realized that she would never fulfill her dream of dancing for the New York City Ballet.

Now working as a dancer in an upscale club in Manhattan, Cam is brought face-to-face with the man she once loved. And it’s her turn to walk away from him.

After five years of missing Cam, Zeus isn’t prepared to let her go again. But when he finds himself standing on her doorstep the next morning, things don’t go quite as he expected…

One heck of a love story

I am not going to lie, the first thing that drew me to this story was the cover. It was sexy without being in your face. And that caught my attention. This is also an author I loved, who I haven't read in a while, and i wanted to fall back in love with her writing again. So I picked this up.

and and and...I absolutely loved this second chance romance. Zeus really showed how you fight for the ones you love. I think the thing that made me fall the most in love with this story was that Cam, also known as Dove, didn't just cave when their paths crossed again. Usually it feels like with second chance romance, when the character knows she still love the male, she just caves immediately. But Cam, she fought it. She fought it because of what happened. She fought it because of how badly she was crushed . How she knew what that hurt would do to her daughter. So not only did she protect herself and her heart, she did so well with her daughter and protecting her. Slowly integrating him into their lives.

And let's be honest, Sam can write some hot scenes... and she wrote some hot scenes for Zeus and Dove. Who doesn't love that. But it was more than just the steam between them for me. It was what Zeus does and why he fights. How he did everything he could to show her she was worth it for him. How she was the last one for him. And how he was going to take every step necessary to make her see that, to make her feel that. And Sam took every step possible to make us, as a reader, feel that connection between them. THAT is why I loved this book.

There's not really much else to say.. Except maybe, gimme more Sam!!
