What happens when Mr. Right turns out to be Prince Charming?

I am going to review this series as a whole, since I listened to all the books back to back.

Every now and then I get on this kick where I need an overly sweet romance, where I guaranteed the happily ever after .. This is exactly what you get with this series. You get that instant love, tooth ache, type of story. And for once, this is exactly what I was craving.

In each story, you get two people whom you don't think should fit, but who's chemistry is off the charts. Whether they know each others identity or not, the pull between them is undeniable. Whether its a CEO, a prince, or a rich bachelor, the ladies don't really know who they're dealing with at first. Then surprise surprise, the truth comes out and they're all dumbfounded.

My only complaint is this. With each book, we have a villain, obviously. The one that stands out the most to me, probably because it was the most recent is the Queen. There are so many things that she does that are just horrible , selfish things. And yet, at the end, when we could be given a resolution to this horrible woman and her actions, it's just brushed under the rug. She is just going to stay somewhere else. Yet, the King, who you come to care for, is just supposed to be okay with it? How she treated Sabrina, in front of people, we're just supposed to be okay with it because they had words? There is never any resolution or punishment to the villains in any of the stories. That is my only complaint.

The narrators in each story was amazing. They really brought the sweet, unblemished side of each woman to life. And when you do that, when you bring them to life, it makes it so much easier for the readers to get sucked in and not want to put the story down.

The series gets 4 stars from me.

❤❤ Homecoming by Shannon Stacey 4 Star Review ❤❤

My Rating:  4 Out of 5
They were the golden boys of fall: Stewart Mills High School’s legendary championship football team. Fourteen years later, they’re back to relive their glory, save the team—and find themselves again . . .

Sam Leavitt has returned home to Stewart Mills with one goal: to fill in for Coach McDonnell and lead the high school football team to the championship. He doesn’t have time for distractions or commitments—but he’s unable to resist falling for the sexy guidance counselor he shared a hot night with months ago.

Jen Cooper knows what she’s looking for long-term, and it’s not Sam—even though the night they shared was explosive. Now, with Sam back in town and working by her side, picking up where they left off is too great a temptation to resist. But before long their fun fling is looking like a future together. And as the championship approaches, Sam is faced with a big decision that will either break them apart—or help them find their way home.

Hotness Rating 3 out of 5

This 3rd book of the Boys of Fall series may be my favorite yet. I was looking forward to Sam's story and Ms. Stacey did not let me down. I mean who doesn't love a sexy bad boy turned good? Homecoming brought us a bittersweet tale of redemption, forgiveness and the strength to overcome the ghosts of the past. All of this in addition to a lovely small town with amusing town folk, good friends, new love and of course football!

Sam had my heart since the first time he appeared in book 1 Under the Lights. There was just something about him. You could feel the intensity and the weight he carried with him from his past pour from the pages. Yet, he was such a stand up guy that knew how to smile and enjoy the time that he had left back with his old friends and coach.

Jen was a great character. She truly had a calling when it came to her job and the kids she helped. She wanted a family and kids of her own, but being from a small town her chances of meeting a new guy were slim. Not that she wanted a new guy. Sam pretty much claimed her heart from the start despite how hard she fought it.

I loved the conversations between Sam and Coach. It cracked me up how Coach would kind of channel his inner Yoda when giving Sam advice. It made me chuckle every time. The romance between Sam and Jen was a sweet one. You kind of felt swept up in the whole thing as the couple first fought the attraction, accepted the inevitable with restrictions and then lost all control of their intentions. For me this was a fun read that ended way too soon.

For me this was a 4 star read

❤❤ Big Sky Secrets by Linda Lael Miller 4 Star Review ❤❤

My Rating:  4 Out of 5
Self-made tycoon Landry Sutton heads to Hangman Bend's Ranch to sell his land to his brother Zane. Though he's got cowboy in his blood, Landry plans to return to city life before the dust even settles on his boots. Of course, he didn't count on falling for Big Sky Country…or Ria Manning.

Ria's starting to settle into country life herself…until she has a close encounter of the terrifying kind with a buffalo. Turns out the peeping monster belongs to the cowboy next door—and he has her running even more scared than his bison. She wants a home where the buffalo don't roam, and the men don't either. Could Landry's homecoming be her heart's undoing?

Hotness Rating 3 out of 5

Big Sky Secrets was such a fitting and perfect end to the Parable, Montana series. After the last book Big Sky Wedding I felt a bit cheated and had high hopes that this book would redeem it. It did! I totally loved everything about this book!

On the surface it looked like Landry had it all, but once you looked past what he allowed himself to show the world was an insecure guy who was dealing with so much guilt it weighed him down. I loved the sexy confident man that he appeared to be. He was friendly to all and was willing to put out a helping hand when needed. But, I really loved the vulnerable Landry that questioned so many of his past choices and actions, as well as the honorable man that wouldn't allow himself to make a move on Ria while she still wore her dead husband's ring.

Ria was a character that I felt for from the minute I read her story. She loved her husband but had unfinished issues that could never be dealt with because of his untimely death. Moving on was scary not only because of the love she had for her husband, but because those unfinished issues were rearing their ugly head.

Landry was good for Ria in so many ways. She was even better for him in so many more. Their connection was more sweet than explosive or sizzling. I enjoyed their relationship as it progressed and really enjoyed seeing both of these characters change and grow with the help of one another.

For me this was a 4 star read

❤❤Part of Me by Magan Vernon Release Day!❤❤❤❤

Welcome back to Friendship, Texas. A town where your best friend may be dating an Olympic swimmer and his best friend may or may not also be an Olympic swimmer you sort of, kind of did the nasty with against Nonna's goat pen.

“Is that…?” I asked, staring at Dr. Burly Santa.
He smiled and nodded. “That would be your baby’s heartbeat.”
The emotion I’d been storing away came flooding back as tears burst from my eyes. A baby. A person. This was real. I was carrying a tiny human inside me.
The doctor tried to console me as he gave me samples of prenatal vitamins and paper after paper was piled in a folder with my name and September on the front.
September. My baby’s due date.
Holy shit, I was going to be a mother.
And Johnny was going to be a father.
I had to do so many things to prepare and people I had to tell. But at that moment, I just stared down at my stomach. My stomach holding my baby.
This wasn’t just about me and my future anymore. This was about us. And whether I liked it or not, this baby was a part of me, which meant Johnny was a part of me. It was time we stopped running from each other.

**This book is a standalone in a series and you do not need to read the first books to understand this one!**

❤❤EXCERPT❤❤

"What are you going to do now, Sofie?" he whispered with his lips barely an inch from mine.
I figured that was basically an open invitation, so I leaned forward and crushed my lips to his.
He put his knee between my legs, spreading them apart and pressing all of him against me.
"Oh my god, that's so fucking hot," I mumbled against his lips, which sounded more like, "Oh meh ger, sah fern hert."
"So you're a talker, eh?" he said against my ear before nipping it.
"Wait, don't leave bite marks. I need those for work. My ears, that is," I said.
Johnny leaned back, the moonlight casting a soft glow on his face. "Are you way too drunk right now to do anything?"
"Are you?" I asked, raising an eyebrow before rocking my hips forward and feeling his hardness press against my core. "Guess not."
"You could get me hard whether I've been drinking all night or not," he said, pushing against me and moving his hips in a circular motion, the friction itself bringing me to the brink.
"Is this because I got my braces off and learned to straighten my hair? Because you probably wouldn’t be doing this if I were still the geek from two years ago. Though, I am still that geek, just with better hair and eyebrows," I said.
"If you sit on my face will that get you to stop rambling?" he asked.
I pouted. "No need to be rude."
"Sorry," he whispered, leaning forward. He let go of one wrist but kept the hand with my phone in it above my head.
"You can’t just say sorry and expect me to drop my panties for you. That only works in romance novels and porn," I grumbled, trying to keep my face neutral, but the guy had a smile I would definitely sit on.
"What? I gave you dinner. Well, the Contis fed you, but I did do those weird tasting shots with you. And what’s more romantic than humping against a goat house?" he asked, broadening his grin.
"Technically, it's a pen," I said.
He smirked. "Okay, smart mouth. If this isn't a come-on, then what was that whole bit about being hot and fluttering your eyelashes?"
"I was hot! I'm wearing a sweater, and we were drinking. And as far as eyelashes go, sometimes mine stick together when I use this cheap mascara. Lia told me to spring for something not in the clearance bin, but that extra five dollars could be used for things like snacks."

❤❤Fully Ignited by Shannon Stacey 4 Star Review ❤❤

My Rating:  4 Out of 5
When Jamie Rutherford takes a temporary assignment as lieutenant of Boston Fire’s Engine 59, she doesn’t anticipate any problems. She’s been in the fire service for a long time and, even though she’s fairly new to Boston, she knows how to make any firehouse her home. What she’s not prepared for is her reaction to firefighter Scott Kincaid.

Scott is looking for a wife. It’s been a fun ride as a single guy, but he’s tired of being the third wheel, and nearly losing his brother-in-law finally made him realize just how much he wants a family of his own. When the new guy at the firehouse turns out to be a capable, confident and very attractive woman, his plan is completely derailed.

Hooking up with a fellow firefighter has never been part of Jamie’s plan, but she’s tempted by Scott—even though getting involved with him could tarnish the reputation she’s worked so hard for. And Scott can’t stop thinking about Jamie, despite the fact that she’s his superior and not sticking around. Chemistry can crush the best-laid plans, though, and while Jamie and Scott might not be each other’s future…there’s no resisting the right now.

Hotness Rating 3 out of 5

Fully Ignited may be my favorite book of the Boston Fire series. This third book of the series has everything that a good contemporary romance needs. We have the sexy, yet approachable hero, the sassy and strong heroine and just the right amount of tension to keep you interested, but not enough to make you want to lock both characters in a room until they can get their acts together. Let's not forget the sexy firefighter. In this case both of our characters just happen to be sexy firefighters. Only one of them is known for his way with the ladies and the other is super aware of how every relationship or possible relationship can affect her career. It's highly unfair yet a very real concern.

I love Scott Kincaid. We got a good introduction into his personality in Controlled Burn when his best friend was secretly dating Scott's sister. His quick temper was pretty much what he was known for. In Fully Ignited we get to see such a different side of Scott. He's tired of dating the wrong women and being known as a hothead. Eventually he wants to settle down and have a family. He knows the way to do that is to stop going out with every wrong girl that crosses his path.

Jamie Rutherford is what every little girl that has ever wanted a job in a male dominated career should strive to be. As a lieutenant without a permanent home she is sent to cover Scott's house while their Lt. is recovering from an injury. Everyone knows it's temporary going in, but as feelings develop between her and Scott it makes things that much more difficult.

The story between this couple is a hard one in so many ways, yet so easy in so many more. They have their careers in common and develop an easy friendship and relationship right off. Yet, they feel they have to hide things because of how it could affect Jamie. Then there's the obstacle of Scott thinking that if Jamie ever became a wife and mother she should pick a less dangerous career path. Double standard much? Even though Jamie understands where he's coming from she just can't give it all up.

I found the path that both of these characters traveled to be an interesting one. It was great character and story development that allowed us to not only see where each character was coming from, but to sympathize with the both of them as they fought the pull of a relationship, succumbed to it and then let their beliefs tear them apart. Luckily, as in any romance we work back around to the happy ending.

Definitely a great installment to this series. I can't wait to read more about these sexy Boston firefighters.

I am a huge fan of The Hellions Ride series. Originals Ride being the 8th installment gives us the 4 men that started it all. Roundman, Frisco, Danza and Rocky shared a brotherhood bond that most brothers don't have. The lives of these 4 men made up everything a good book needs - love, loss, a fight worth fighting and family. I can not say enough about this book. And the good news is you don't have to have read the first 7 to enjoy this book. Actually, I am thinking it would have been kind of neat to have read this one first.

Of course, my favorite part of the book was the romance between Dia and Roundman. Their love just made me want to sigh. Her unwavering support of Roundman actually made me question myself. I mean in the very first chapter she shows that she has Roundman's back no matter what. Her douche of an ex pops in, runs his mouth and makes threats. Dia stands right behind her man and says you got this (paraphrasing, obviously).

My advice: Read this book! Read this series! You will not be sorry!

This was a 4 Star read for me

“Hush, little baby, don’t say a word,” Dia sings softly to our baby

girl. “Daddy’s gonna buy you a Harley shirt.”

I can’t stop the laugh that escapes as I lean against the doorjamb.
Little noises come from our baby, and Dia looks up at me with sharp eyes.

“Well then, Mister Chuckles, you come put her to sleep.” She stands from the rocking chair and brings me the baby all wrapped in red.

Claudia was adamant that our nursery and baby not look like someone vomited Pepto pink in her room and her wardrobe. Can’t say that I’m sad she feels that way, either.

With her hair all wild around her face, her eyes tired from lack of sleep these last few days, and baby spit-up on her shirt, my wife has never looked more disheveled nor more beautiful.

Taking Delilah from her arms, I kiss my wife on her forehead. “Go shower and take a nap, love.”

“Gladly,” she says with an exhausted smile. With a quick kiss to our daughter’s head and one to my lips, she heads off to her sanctuary—our bedroom.

Sitting in the rocker that faces my daughter’s crib all decked out in hot air balloons with teddy bears, I have to smile at how life has changed from the moment they placed Delilah in my arms.

With the face of a doll, eyes of an angel, and a head of blonde hair to match her mother’s, my baby girl is absolutely perfect.

Bright eyes look up at me as she opens and closes her mouth like a fish. “Never known love so deep, dollface.” My voice is raspy as I try not to be loud, but I want to talk to my little girl. “Loved your momma before, but watching her with you, holding you, having you … Well, Doll, I’ve never know anything purer in my life.”

My daughter smiles. Dia says it’s gas, but I don’t care. My baby girl smiles before her eyes close, and she snuggles closer to me.

“Leather, oil, and man,” I explain happily. “One day, you’re gonna grow up, and when you find a man, he should smell like a hardworking man, Doll.” The thought of my baby girl growing up has me twitching to shoot something. “Never mind that, precious. I promise you, as your dad, I’ll be the man you look up to. I’ll be the man who makes you proud. I’ll be rock solid for you and your momma. I’ll give you my all and my love.” I rock her, thinking of what it’s going to be like to watch her grow. “When the time comes to let you go, I’m going to fight like hell to keep you with me. I’ll give my life before I’ll let anyone touch you.” Kissing her head as she soundly sleeps, I hold my daughter in my arms.
