❤❤ 3 star review of THE GREATEST RISK by Kristen Ashley ❤❤

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A woman unable to connect, struggling to hide another part of her. A man burning to learn her truth, and make her whole. Through explosive passion and deep exploration, they are about to take the greatest risk of all. But will they be able to take that leap, and come out on the other side together?

In this next passionate novel in the Honey series, New York Timesbestselling author Kristen Ashley delivers a stunningly romantic and intensely sexy novel that will stay with you long after you turn the final page.

Welp, my thoughts on this one....

It's interesting for sure. It has a lot, a lot of kink. And a lot of times felt drawn out and slow. Way too much details were provided for things they weren't necessary for the storyline. It ended up hurting the story instead of helping it. I ended up skimming some sections of this book because I really didn't need to know every single detail of a location, outfit , or welp.. pretty much anything. Then when additional characters were added to our storyline, it was like the storyline had a squirrel moment and off we went....

Honestly, for me, the female lead in this book was too much. Not so much because of who she was, but because I was so sick of hearing about her repetitive need to flee, leave, not stick around, over and over and over and over.... There was even a freaking countdown about when she would do it. Regardless of how she felt, she was going to do it any way. . and repeat.. and repeat. It was like no matter what Stellan did, still... rinse and repeat the thought process over and over. It got to the point if she mentioned it, I skimmed the paragraph. I skimmed a KA book. Someone strike me down!

There was also what seemed to me, too many substorylines going on at once. Not to mention her "job" and it's players. I will be completely honest about this, her latest job. The partners and what one was doing at a club.  The names were kind of close and made it hard to make sure I keep the character separated correctly. Honestly, I gave up trying to keep each person correct. That's how over all the subplots I was.

I also got this book from my library and noticed a lot of editing mistakes. Wrong words in the sentence, multiple times. It got so bad, it takes you out of the story. I ended up highlighting them because they happened so often. I expected more for someone of KA's caliber.

All in all it was okay. Just meh. I still encourage you to get a copy and share your thoughts. Just be prepared to be frustrated and bored at times because it's so overly detailed and slow moving at parts. Not my favorite KA book
