My name is Essa Brant, and I’ve just made the biggest mistake of my life. By trusting someone I shouldn’t, by forgetting I’m in love with a dangerous man with many enemies, I now find myself caught up in some very dire circumstances.
I’m learning, though, that when all is lost, there is still something you can hold on to: hope. Well, I’m holding tight with my last and final hope that Farren will save me.
~~~~~
My name is Farren Shaw, and when I discover the woman I love has been abducted I am ready to go to any lengths to save her.
I will kill and destroy for Essa. After all, it’s not like I haven’t done these things before.
Only problem is, when I do find Essa and finally tell her all the things I’ve been keeping from her, will she still want me?
I loved where SR Grey took this book. A bit of the same idea for the story line, but a twist on it. I will say, I am very surprised that Farren didn't pull his dad into this to help. I am also so very surprised how calm and collected Essa's head was with leaving clues and finding a way out.
Though I was left with a question. In the beginning Justin's tone changed and he went from nerdy to confident and demanding. His demeanor changed after he played his part in the beginning. That was a little off for me.I thought for sure after that one part, he was playing for the wrong team. So the way that worked out was a little too easy for me.... And the lunch! Totally surprised with that twist in the story line.
SR threw some twists and turns at us that I didn't expect. And some that I still don't understand and would have liked investigated and played out a little better. I would have loved to see more of Rick and Farren's sister. I would have loved to get a little bit more of their story at the end, a little bit more of an in depth of a happily ever after, after what they went through.
I can say this, I loved that everything they did, Farren and Essa, they did together. I loved that he helped her, he trained her, and they did it all together. Almost like it brought them closer.
It was a good read, i think it could have been a little bit darker with what happened. but all in all a good read.
I gave it 3.5 stars
