❤❤ MAX ( Cold Fury #6) by Sawyer Bennett 4 star review ❤❤

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The ice is a cold mistress. As the league’s most eligible goalie, Max Fournier has access to his fair share of willing puck bunnies, but right now he’s more interested in bringing home another championship than a one-night stand. A romantic at heart, Max believes in love; he’s just not great at relationships. So when he finally meets a nice girl who’s not blinded by his celebrity, he’s feeling the heat—and the pressure to save her from herself.

Between working two jobs and raising her sister’s kids, Julianne Bradley doesn’t have time for sports—or men. All she knows about Max is that he’s the sexiest customer to ever grace her gas-station counter. And he sees past her tired eyes and makes Jules yearn for things she can’t have: a glamorous fling, a passionate lover, and the time to enjoy both. Max makes her feel like Cinderella, even though Jules has enough baggage to crush a glass slipper. Luckily, he’s no prince—only a fierce competitor determined to win her heart.

Max oh Max, who knew such a romantic lived under that hockey mask.

"She laughs softly and it flows through my veins like a sweet lazy river."

I mean, lordy lordy some of the things he does for her, and the things he says. Sawyer Bennett really stepped up her romantic sweetheart game with this one. I mean all the COld Fury guys have been romantics in some form of the word when it came to their women, but Max really was a true romantic every chance he got. Truly sweeping Jules, and the kids, off their feet at any chance he could.

To me, I think the thing I liked to, and related to the most, was the single mom aspect of the story. I liked it the most, because with everything he did, it included the kids. He never left them out. he made sure that Jules was always taken care of, but the kids too. He made sure that Jules knew how he felt, and he made sure the kids did too. He supported her with all she did and all she was capable of becoming. and that hit so close to home for me, that it just took my breath away.

And let's not tiptoe around the topic here, because this is Sawyer Bennett and we know she brings the heat. And it. was. brought. with this one. Whew! someone hand me a fan!

I could not stop reading this book when I picked it up. It was a one sitting read. Completely dug in and didn't want it to end. I couldn't get enough of Max and Jules, and our Cold Fury family.

But the thing that was hands down the best part? The end....
