❤❤ Dee's 4.5 star review of THE ONE FOR ME by Sydney Landon ❤❤

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

The New York Times bestselling author of Watch Over Me delivers a steamy new novel of irresistible attraction in her popular Danvers series.

Mark DeSanto has never denied himself anything—especially in the bedroom. Rich, attractive, and successful, men envy him and women desire him. But when a sweet, guileless beauty faints at his feet, he suddenly finds himself wondering if it’s time to look for something more lasting...

Until her divorce, Crystal Webber never knew what it was like to follow her heart. Now she wants to experience all life has to offer. So when she catches a glimpse of Mark DeSanto in the halls of Danvers International, she’s instantly infatuated—and eager to join him for a walk on the wild side. Fainting at his feet wasn’t her plan, but at least it got his attention...

But for the first time, Mark wants to take things slow, which—considering the electricity between them—may take far more willpower than he’s ever had.

I have to say, the beginning of the book is definitely something that captures your attention. Lusting and office stalking someone , just to meet right as your as super sick and about to faint, and a little delirious.. I have to admit... I kind of liked when Crystal was delirious, she said the best things. they has me giggling at the things that would come out of her mouth. I would find myself sitting and reading, with this goofy grin on my face. Sydney wrote the perfect ramblings at the perfect times. Completely nailed the word vomit.

Mark, Mark, Mark. At first I thought he would be way too serious for her, maybe even a cheater. I was totally unsure if he was going to be able to settle down and be serious, faithful. I have to admit how wrong I was, and boy and I happy to admit that. Other than his desire to run away when it got too rough, he nails the boyfriend thing.

Denny. Denny was another one who had me giggling with some of the things he said. Case in point, the Play doh mold .. Britney Spears.

I was laughing at that whole scene. I could just see it playing out in my head. Surprisingly, he's also a source of great relationship wisdom for Mark. When there were times I wanted to shake, or smack Mark, Denny always stepped in in some way. well... except for against her mom. It was like Denny was the little angel on my shoulder that would jump into my kindle and smack sense into Mark when it just had to be done.

Holy crap on a cracker has Sydney given us a villain or what with this one ..and just one but ...two, maybe three? She definitely wrote someone that has no redeeming qualities what so ever. There was nothing that made me like her at all. And I would really love to know why she was so harsh to Crystal, let alone the shit she pulled with the ex! Gimme some explanations there!

There were a couple references to Marks kinkier side, and I would have loved to get a taste of that. But all in all I loved this book. I'm so glad our characters finally found their back bones and stood up to those holding them back.  I loved everything from the minute the books started. I found it absolutely addicting.

definitely 4.5 stars from me
