From the New York Times bestselling author of the Gabriel trilogy comes the hotly anticipated follow-up to The Raven, a sensual novel set in Florence featuring the dangerously intoxicating coupling of Raven and William…
Raven Wood’s vampyre prince has returned, pledging his love and promising justice for every wrong done to her. In the wake of their reunion, Raven is faced with a terrible decision—allow the Prince to wreak vengeance against the demons of her past, or persuade him to stay his hand. But there is far more at stake than Raven’s heart...
A shadow has fallen over the city of Florence. Ispettor Batelli will not rest until he uncovers Raven’s connection to the theft of the priceless art from the Uffizi Gallery. And while the Prince hunts a traitor who sabotages him at every turn, he finds himself the target of the vampyres’ mortal enemy.
As he wages a war on two fronts, he will need to keep his love for Raven secret, or risk exposing his greatest weakness...
you'll have to excuse me a minute, I need to pick my jaw up off the floor. I can not believe how this ended... I mean, we're left hanging. that was one epic cliffhanger. and honestly, I would read it again and again, despite my hatred of cliffhangers.
this sequel had me literally sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time. sitting on the edge of my seat and anxiously awaiting every word of every chapter. so much happened in this book. so much I'm sort of struggling with words, struggling with my reaction.
I felt like at every turn there was someone hidden in the dark and i was left trying to figure out who was pulling the strings. and surprises, this was full of surprises and hidden agendas and puzzles and WILLIAM. we get to learn so much about him.
but I will say this.. I do not like Abhiohe. well, the people in the Consillium I liked, I found myself questioning. I found myself questioning everything and everyone. even her sister. I mean everyone. I felt paranoid in a way. not sure if I could trust anyone. not sure if anyone dealt in truths.
by the time you finish this you'll forget all other vampire stories out there. I can't wait to see what lies ahead for William. I can't wait to see how hard he's going to fight. how far he will go. what and who he will destroy to get what he wants. I also can't wait to see what is going to happen to Raven. will she strengthen or weaken the Prince? will she prove helpful to the city, or will she hurt it?
I'm in love with how sylvain is writing this story. in love with how it flowed and developed. and definitely in love with these two love birds. this was nothing short of addicting for me! I was completely captivated!
