Eric Hernandez is the bad boy of every schoolgirl’s fantasies—and every mother’s nightmares. But after serving time for manslaughter, he’s ready to turn his life around. He just needs a chance to prove himself as a professional tattoo artist. The one thing that keeps him going is the memory of the innocent beauty he loved and left behind.
Meghan Young’s world isn’t as perfect as it looks. The preacher’s daughter is living a lie, especially now that Eric is back. Tougher, harder, and sexier than ever, he might be the only person she can trust. But there’s no telling what he’ll do to protect her if he learns the truth, and that’s a risk Meghan won’t let him take. And yet, back in the arms of the troubled boy with the artist’s soul, Meghan can’t help surrendering to the man he’s become.

I had a little trouble with this book. It almost comes off choppy in the delivery. Also, we have an unanswered question- the "who did it" question. Throughout the book we are hit with a lot of drama in our story line. The brother, being locked up, his ex, her ex, the walk, the emails, the vandalism and attacks. We have resolution on all of it except what is a huge part of the story. I know that it is touched on and the police have no suspect or resolution, but I still needed that resolution for the story line. It felt too .. unresolved .. at the end of the book. I need that feeling of everything being addressed and resolved.
As for the main characters, for some reason I didn't FEEL their chemistry. Was it there? Yes. Was he protecting her? Yes. But.. Idon't know. I Just.. didn't feel it.
It felt like no matter what happened the girls were attacked and the dude was always fighting- internally or with someone else. And finally it just became too much.
I think it was a good storyline, and the book had some good parts of it. But for me, it just missed the mark.
Do I want to turn you off this book? Absolutely not. Everyone reacts to books differently. While it may have missed the mark for me, it may not for you. I encourage you to still give it a chance. I rated it 3 stars, maybe you will give it more.
