❤❤ Seducing the Boss by Mari Carr 4 Star Review❤❤

My Rating:  4 Out of 5

Kellan James is unwinding at Score when he spots the last person he’d ever expect to find in his favorite bar. Sara Connelly—ER nurse, do-gooder, charitable crusader, and frequent pain in his ass. Both grew up privileged in swanky Southampton, but that’s where the similarities end. Kellan’s made it his mission to seek out life’s pleasures; Sara gains pleasure from lecturing him on his lifestyle. Kellan would never date someone like her. Ever.

But when Kellan discovers Sara’s been stood-up by an online date, something fierce and protective awakens inside of him. Typically, Kellan would enjoy teasing the jilted Sara, but something in her face sends him over to her table with a plan. He encourages her to take a walk on the wild side, one weekend of sin, no holds barred.

She accepts, but it quickly becomes apparent that one night isn’t enough. As the pull between them grows stronger, Kellan discovers it’s a very dangerous thing to say never.

Hotness Rating 3 out of 5

I don't even know where to begin with Seducing the Boss by Mari Carr. I think it's safe to say we've all read the best friend turns lover trope at one time or another. Seducing the Boss isn't reinventing this storyline, but it does give us a fast paced, sexy read that you won't want to put down. Well, except to maybe grab the fire extinguisher. This couple generates sparks in a big way.

Kellan James is such a likable character considering he's a womanizing workaholic. In his defense his womanizing does not include misleading innocent women into thinking he wants more than a night or two between the sheets. He's a man who breaks into cold sweats at the thought of settling down, but enjoys having a woman when the mood strikes. And the mood strikes a lot!

I not only respected Sara as a woman, but as a nurse. She was everything a nurse should strive to be. I loved that she was a no-nonsense take charge kind of woman, but knew how to be soft when the situation warranted it. She was the perfect counterpart for Kellan balancing him in a way that no other woman really could.

This romance had tons of obstacles that seemed insurmountable. Kellan was her friend since early childhood and if that's not enough he's also her boss. You would think these things would be enough to keep two intelligent people away from starting anything intimate that could come back to bite them in the end. However, when Kellan saw Sara at the bar and considered her as something other than his best friend Scrubs (the nickname he uses for her which I adore) he can't seem to think about anything else. It didn't take him too much persuasion to convince Sara that a weekend of unadulterated passion between them and then back to life as is was just what they needed. My heart hurt for Kellan as he waded through his past and faced the demons that made him feel the way he does about relationships. I applauded Sara however. She stood her ground and refused to compromise on what she deserved.

This book is a definite must read. I am so sad that it's over.

For me this was a 4 star read
